@snakeykid1 i think it's wonderful that you're able to interpret this in your way and that's the beautiful thing about manga, you can interpret anything as long as you can consider things figuratively and artistically. Personally, I think the alien plotline is just a vessel to advance the characters and their respective narratives whether its misguided altruism or apathetic nihilism. I doubt there will be a satisfying ending on the alien's motives nor does the grand narrative of the aliens arriving in Japan really make any sense.

I just realized that this entire manga is a metaphor for the refugee crisis, the aliens are called invaders but are completely harmless, they came escaping their planet to live on safe earth, the motherbase is like the embassy,they bring advanced technology with them that is exploited, and the military industrial complex makes a killing developing weapons to persecute and subjagte them, just like america and the middle east with drones. The big tragedy only happened because humans assumed they were dangerous and attacked beforehand, because of stereotypes of aliens attacking. The aliens coming also gave japan an excuse to stregthn its military, and trump here is threatened cause he america is supposed to be the dominant super power
