We are currently working on it for them and we don't have permission to upload to a third-party website, so, we removed all of the chapters from Mangadex that they uploaded to their app, which is everything from chapter 21 onwards. Keeping them would also be against Mangadex rules, as those right now would be considered official rips.

Really no offense with this, but you're a mess. I've clearly stated the difference between a supporter and a customer. The whole customer thing is irrelevant anyway, it only escalated because you've made this statement: "Everyone here is fully aware of the fact that accepting donations is essentially, "charging money for *our services"". She clearly updated the page in January and had plenty of time since she made that post to remove it from the front page post. If everybody since then left her, and now she is all by herself, that's not a fact I'm operating with. And even if everybody did leave her, and she is all by herself now, that wouldn't have changed anything and we would have still sniped. I argued that point because you presented her as a sole scanlator, I just showed you what I consider to be proof that she is not. Now, you are using another post from her website, where she states otherwise and you chose to believe it. That's fine, but then "don't bully a sole scanlator" argument doesn't hold as all we have is contradicting evidence.


We've sniped, as I said multiple other times, we're not looking for an excuse, we're not trying to justify it nor does it require justification, even if I did offer an explanation. I've clearly given my stance on sniping. You've mentioned Trash Scanlation in your example, all they had to do was keep releasing and they would have been fine. Instead, they fell to an internal dispute, Meraki is far from unstable. We are a small group that's as united as it ever was. Community backing or not, we'll be fine unless we get bored and quit. Oh, and don't mistake it, you are in the far minority.

Lastly, in regards to this subject, even if you are a donator, who donates $1000 a month, you are still really not entitled to demand anything from us, unless a deal was made beforehand in which case it is a transaction.

Another thing, which is something I want to clear up for anybody who reads this in the future. We encourage sniping in some cases. If a person thinks he can do the job better, if the other scanlator is not doing it in a timely fashion, if they're not doing that great of a job. If you can find any justifiable reason and you're in the power to change it, then do it. That's why you became a scanlator in the first place. To enjoy yourself first of all, and then to benefit others with the skills that you have. Don't do it to provoke others, do it because you think you can do better or because you think the project deserves better.

We've gotten sniped plenty in the past, only time I reasonably got mad is when we got sniped on Returners while doing 2-3 a day. Senryu Girl recently got likewise sniped. We were so happy that somebody stepped up and took it off our plate, and they are doing it on a better pace than we could at the time. Ironically, the ones who understand the least are the ones who are escalating these situations (readers).

I found Master of Gu through Meraki so i am thankful ?. And to be honest the translation quality is just better. But everyone can read the version they want so no harm done. Thanks a lot

I honestly believe this is the work of an enemy stand a rival translator who got butthurt by meraki's hold on the "good stuff". Snitching to get them to release their obviously strong hold.

I wont be surprised if we dont start seeing others taking what was dropped instantaneously.

Sadly most of the stuff that was dropped was the only webtoon i was reading. On a marketing term i find Kakaopage actions quite stupid and harmful.
They might propose an exclusive service, but it's not like they're proposing an alternative to those who can't read korean (yet).
This kind of behavior is only harmful toward future customers that may or may not purchase such services if they were one day made available.
Besides, it decreases awareness toward those webtoons and authors, and substantial future income.

I found the example of what was done with wuxiaworld and novel the good example of what should be done by those companies.
After all, even if you want to make money, your customers are readers..if you stop people from reaching your product, you just cut yourself from profit.

And now, either kakao will just sit on its IP forever, never releasing an official translation or they will do what some other big korean webtoon companies did : releasing horribly bad translations (and here I mean even inferior than your run off the mill google trad) for a ludicrously high price on their own slapdashed international website and then rant about the fact that nobody want to read them...

@Missalot Don's adventure is being done officially by both Mangatoon and Webcomics. Mangatoon has passed the chapter we stopped on I believe. It's called Tomins Adventures in Alien World and you can find it on their app. We've decided to drop it in an attempt to support the official release.

@raiteiboy If you're referring to Chihaya-san's fine that way, we've scanlated it fully. However, if you're referring to Mogusa-san, we've passed it to another group back when we disbanded in May of 2018, we're back to scanlating since then, however, we haven't considered picking it back up.

While we would prefer that you disable the Adblock obviously, whether you do or not, that's entirely up to you. @Nekoya-Sensei Runway is with Fallen Angels now, you can read it on their website. We basically disbanded the group back in May, so it ended up there. Though to avoid any confusion, we're back in action now, but some projects are staying with the groups that picked them up in the meantime.

@zetsuravez Our website is under extremely high traffic as of late due to multiple daily releases of popular series (mainly Solo Leveling, as it's popularity far exceeded our expectations and we weren't ready for the traffic increase) and it's taking a damn while to respond. We've disabled the delay on Mangadex, and we upload here around the same time, if not earlier than our website to lessen the traffic. We're working on a solution, but it'll take us a while, in the meantime, enjoy yourself here, the pace of releases is only slightly impacted, as we take our time to deal with the issue.
