@HoodedHero007— I didn't refer to conflict; I referred to plot. (Likewise for @Lilliwyt.) This story began with an apparent plot; it now does not have one. There is no evidence of an impending twist, which would characterize kishoutenketsu. (Look it up.) I didn't insist that a series needed a plot.1 I asked how one were to distinguish a main story in the absence of a plot. Perhaps a twist will at some point be presented, and thus make a plot apparent;2 however, right now there is no discernible plot, and we can no more distinguish a main story with a plot hidden than we can with no plot at all. @Lilliwyt— It seems to have become indeed a SoL, but it didn't start that way. 1 Some of my favorite series have no plot. 2 Theoretically, other things could happen and reveal a plot. But I'm not holding my breath. Last edited 8 days ago by Oeconomist. |

Yay, a character page so I don't have to wonder who everyone is. Also, you do not need conflict for a story. You do not need conflict for a plot. The more commonly used plot structure in japan, Kishoutenketsu does not have conflict inherent in the narrative. Look it up. |

It's a SoL so it's pretty much a given there is no plot to work with. |

Eh, “main story”? How does one distinguish the main story in the absence of any plot? |
