Guess Darwin’s Game, or rather the GMs of each worldline has the purpose to advance their population to fight the inevitable Doume/monster threat.

The main one, worldline N was through Darwin’s game, while our GM seemed like an evolution sociopath at first, recent chapters show more like he is trying to use the survivors of natural selection to gather an army and fight back.

The Japan and Doume’s worldline was a bit more advanced but failed, leading the Doume to take over the world, which matches how our GM says he wouldn’t “make the same mistakes”.

Meanwhile worldline O has a naturally stronger population, but technologically weaker one at the same time, making it seem like the GMs of both worldlines orchestrated their game for each to get people from the other worldline and make theirs stronger, seeing as the game wouldn’t end in death of the losers, but capture. Worldline O won and with that they acquired better technology, will soon mass-produce our guns and soon be better prepared for the invasion.

I have to admit, I'm getting pretty tired of this "alternate world" shtick. The dripfeed of info is moving way too slow, and has drawn the plot away from the main chunk of characters for way too long. They give cutaways to the other folks occasionally, sure, but now they're introducing new villains that are literally "other characters but with horns".

@mage_goo I was under the impression that the murals weren't necessarily in order, juts showing that they've visited the "main" world repeatedly and establishing that time moves way slower in "oni" world.

I just realized something.

In one of the last chapters we've seen those weird monsters attacking shibuya take human form.

And when Kaname was stuck on that Island with the villager guys (you know, the world with the old GM that died and the monkey monsters) , one of them told him the doume overthrew all other humans. So basically... in that parallel world, humanity probably 'lost', either getting overtaken or infiltrated with the old GM being politically outmaneuvered and japan getting trashed by monsters.

The mural we've seen is probably a prediction for every world shown so far, then. In the world of the old GM it already happened, in Kanames it's currently happening, in this one it will one day happen.

200 years ago: samurai
> 200 years ago: crusader and roman i guess
1000 years ago: modern building

does time move backward or is that millennium old mural just an oracle for the far future

What...
Those 2 'new' characters are basically oni Kaname and Shuka...

"Uraji Mir"

...do they mean Vladimir?

Yeah, it might be something that happens to all worlds once civilization reaches a certain point because those are definitely modern buildings in the premonition. Or it's really just about Kaname's world. We will see.
Avatar
Perhaps this 'premonition' is something that would happen in their world too eventually, but since they have 'slower' time flow, it happened to human world first.

That already happened... The farsighted saw the wrong world too.

Lillia's a hottie, too bad she's likely a one-off character...

So, time-travel + isekai ?

Nice opening art of Sui. Maybe soon we will get to see what is happening back in world this originally took place in. I really wanna know. And see the other characters who haven't shown up much lately.
Avatar
Oh damn so not all gms have full control of their “games” it seems that the Americans in this world also have the powers so perhaps there are contestants

Pages 28-33 are such a callback to the earlier volumes.

I was under the impression the Empress would be as knowledgeable as other GMs, but it turns out to not be the case.
