@JWChibi There's three possibilities that I can think of regarding this suspicious imagining. 1: Children are pure, and by imagining the women that has caught his eye as children provides him with a pure representation of them. This is especially important if the woman in question doesn't actually have that good of a personality. It's simply an ideology revolving around purity and maintaining that purity, ensuring those dolls are never sullied by society's expectations and corruption. 2: He simply thinks children are objectively cuter, and imagining those women as children simply adds to the preferred aesthetic he is aiming for. You could say that he likes "chibi" characters, but in the world he is in currently such a word/concept doesn't really exist so the next best(or rather only) "concept" is to childify them rather than chibify them, so to speak. 3: It's simply easier to make smaller sized dolls, and in order for him to properly make a doll in a woman's image without ruining proportions he has to first imagine what they would look like as a child. It's simply how things turned out. Path of least resistance, and all that.

I was kinda disappointed in the book here. In the novel she stopped reading the book of potential paths at the point where things were becoming more than just friends on the Lily route. Honestly the reaction would be exactly that, but still.
