@GreenMoriyam Pretty cool response and just wanted to say thanks for sharing a bit of yourself too. It was pretty interesting hearing your perspective of the story taking it from a younger sibling view and how that view may shape your thoughts regarding Ichika and took a moment to try and see it from that view. Makes me wanna contact my sisters and ask them how they thought of me as the bigger brother lol. But I may not wanna hear it lol. But I'm pretty fortunate... Grew up with both my parents and fortunately never had to experience such (any) loss like the Quints in their story and have to be there for my sisters in that capacity... Or be there for each other like that I mean, what a sad chain of events for children to have gone though... Their Father not in there life for one reason or another, living poor and the single mom working to feed five little girls alone and suffering an Illness and then losing her later and the siblings basically having only each other. Really sad but shown how happy they are and overcome all that by having each other. I'm not sure who the bride will be but I am sure that after all the Quints have gone through, Negi will make sure they are all happy In the end and of course the Quints will be as close as ever so I should be OK with whomever it is. That's why even though I may believe who the bride should be from all the pieces (actually I'm still torn between two... Dang chapter 90) I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with whomever it is and not concerned any of the others will be left heartbroken... Just hope Negi weaves his magic til the end and it makes sense lol. @donm527 and @Finalegend Hence why I admit that I may be overlooking her good parts in favour of "what I want to see." It may also come down to the kinds of older siblings I've come across, and how I (a middle child) have viewed these relationships. Admittedly, my older brother isn't the reliable kind and doesn't try to act like the older brother; as a result, I felt like the one who had to be responsible. I'm much aware that older siblings can't always be perfect or be "the big sister/brother" as I view, and that I should not deeply fault them for being human. I'll just take it that I'm faulting her original personality that pulled an impression on me that she wasn't the reliable older sister as much, only being so when the story demanded it; maybe that was too much of expectations. I may just be discounting her intent of being the older sister (as you have properly explained below, Donm) vs the results. I may just be seeking more balance between the intent vs effect, seeing that too much leeway is given due to intent. I think it's also a case of personal values, as I personally didn't like the actions she had taken in the later half of the current story: Deception and slefishness. Of course, Yotsuba has done the very same (and as we know, Ichika needed a push to be more "selfish"), and it may then seem double standard. However, I'd like to think that their reasons for deceptions are different, and justifies why I view them different. Doesn't help when personally, I've had bad memories when it comes to Ichika's methods compared to Yotsuba's methods. Again, for me in my mind, it may not bade well that I feel like she had already been selfish early on. Certainly she was holding back to make the best for her sisters, but as we know with Yotsuba, her attempt at selflessness may have been selfish. And to add, I don't think "that one hiccup" should be evaluated as "just one hiccup," because as you may observed, Finalegend, some people see events in a story at different levels, from different perspectives. Just to wrap things up, I thank you two for supporting Ichika and responding back, because sadly we can't always see from all perspectives as fairly, even if we try. While I thought individuals like Donm were "blindly following" her... I know very well, that is not the case, and we need more people like such. I just encounter people who seem to lay little reason to waifu-ing characters, and even if that feeling of liking a heroine is justified, it bothers me when their response is or seemingly is shallow. Overall, in parallel to your statement of Ichika being a "good big sis" Donm... in her own way, she's definitely trying to be the best big sis she can, even if everyone is not convinced her efforts are showing the "right fruits." |

@donm527 I agree 1000% , I don't think I can add anything more to what you already said, except I don't think there's a big logical reason behind a lot of people hating Ichika. She "hurt" Miku, who is the most popular female character, and people tried to come up with reasons in order to hate her because of that. It's quite ironic because Ichika, except for that one hiccup, is one of the people who supported Miku the most throughout the series (second maybe only to Fuutarou and followed by Nino) and when she was helping her she had to deal with her own issues and feelings, the only emotional support she got from the sisters was from Yotsuba and we know how it went (not that it was Yotsuba's fault, Yotsuba was and is dealing with a lot of problems and she ended up giving Ichika the advice she needed to hear herself, to finally be "selfish" and free). |

@GreenMoriyama Because Ichika is technically the oldest sister of the Quints (first out I guess)... That makes her big sis. ๐ We don't get the luxury to choose when we are the big bro or sis... I am the oldest in my family so I am the big bro in the family... And I have tried to act the big bro when I could. But I'm sure there are many times I didn't act the model big bro either. Cause I make mistakes like any other siblings or at times want to think of myself first and have made my sisters and even parents mad or cry at times. But you grow and keep trying if you love your family and your family understands looking back and love you back. And now I am the parent and teaching the same to my daughter lol. But I think from my view... Ichika's been a good big sis. ๐ Anyways... Ichika has her selfish side as you've seen... But all other times?? She's tried from the beginning where she started working and kept it secret until she could tell them she was somebody(ch11,p19), to trying to support Miku in the beginning and really did try to not fall in love with Fuu but circumstances keep giving them moments. To trying to act like the older sister when she saw how depressed Itsuki was after mom passed away (ch66,pg9), and Yotsuba said it herself she was their leader and glad she was the oldest to have led them.. And that's the opinion that counts most. To getting the apartment and taking care of expenses to be able to study with Fuu (ch50, pg7), to telling Yotsuba to stop being an idiot and find her future in this last chapter. Probably more moments in between. After all that even she doesn't feel like she has been a good big sis either. But I think she's been an OK big sis. As good as any real big sibling that tries. Just my opinion though. Funny how people hating her for being human and blew it out more than the sisters and even Fuu did lol. Last edited 4 mo ago by donm527. |

I certainly find people who hate too much on Ichika to stop saying "she's out of the bowl"... because undeniably, she's still in at least for the now, akin to Nino if I were to say. However, I will still say that I'm still not convinced with how a number of Ichika fans see her as "the big sis" when I find her to not be as reliable and all. Of course, I may be downplaying the fact that she got a job, but I'm just not buying her character as much admist all the teasing and such she does. Even the moment with her telling Yotsuba not to follow her leaving school to not be anything about being an older sister, but just an honest opinion as a sister since Yotsuba is obviously afflicted too much by guilt-induced pessimism, an uncertain future and an unhealthy selflessness. Certainly, we each can hold our opinions of how to interpret elements of a story, but I don't take well when someone takes that opinion/interpretation too way-side. |

I love how Ichika's haters are trying to write her out of the bowl when Fuuts was practically ruining his pants at the idea of her being into him. Looks like she's far from out to me! Still rooting for Eatsuki though, best supportive sister, supporting Ichika's dreams full force while still working hard on her own future. |

Ichika should just take Fuutarou's virginity. They're alone in a hotel room, what's she waiting for!? the opportunity is there!? Test his manhood Ichika! If Fuutarou doesn't take the bait then she's made the right choice of forgetting about him. ![]() JUST DO IT! ๐ And Miku... damn Fuutarou IS SOO IN "LOVE" WITH HER! I mean just look at him sweating and having blank eyes while Miku's blushing. "Totally not one sided at all. They're totally in love!!"๐๐๐ค Last edited 4 mo ago by McLXIX. |

@Darudius I don't think too close otherwise Ichika wouldn't have to quit school. And the sisters did see Ichika off at some sort of station (bus/train?) Exactly, last chapter people were saying money was the reason Fuu approached her but it wasn't. He's willing to spend all his money to come up with the crazy idea of hiring her lol. Only a couple times per week and only last small number of weeks. one TL has one week but other more vague to imply at least a couple. Can't really fill in the rest of the holes... The money to travel back and forth... Does he catch the train home afterwards... Or reserves a room of his own... Or sleep over in her suite?? (of course on the couch) ๐ Last edited 4 mo ago by donm527. |

@donm527 huh. So she can't be filming too far away then? Find it hard to believe futs has the time and the money to travel very far often. |

@Darudius No. To me he meets her at location and studies with her. Looks like a hotel and makes sense when she said she was filming all day. I don't think it matches the picture of their building shown in chapter 1 page 32 |
