@monkey123 With what steel? ALL the production is earmarked for arms production and there is a serious shortage as is. Coupled with a current lack of furnaces and even just a steel skeleton is impossible. Besides, he isn't making Liberties, he's making Monitors. And one lasts much longer than the other... At least he should use a steel skeleton to make the cement ship. |

guys guys guys, thanks for sharing but you all missed the point. Cement + Steel is ok, I know that but there is no steel used here at this point of the story (Roland said it, no steel available for the ship construction). Also, no Concrete ship of this scale has ever used wind as propulsion. Whatever guys, I just wanted to point the limits of the story line. |

@kingminzy You're literally stupid and ignorant with what others said and your statement reflect your way of thinking. I was working as an engineer IRL and I found your statement is as stupid as a donkey since our sea project that mainly consists of cement and steel for building foundations and walls has never meet such things like before even if it was already 5 years since we (my teams) finished building piers and docks, we never found CRUMBLES on our works. We always doing maintenance every year to keep our builds working fine without any compromises. |

@Jeikob Don't expect anything. This art style only fit for RomCom totally destroying novel setting. |

She's going to realize, not what you were expecting... too bad. As for Engineer boi, your making progress at the finest. |

@kingminzy That's better, bruh. These are far more valid concerns to have. The question is how powerful is Wendy's wind, and how dexterously it can be guided. Also, we'll see how he intends to construct this. He did say he wants a wooden hull, then the 'crete's poured in over an iron frame. So, with the proper shipbuilding techniques for wood, then the water shouldn't even be in contact with the 'crete. We'll see how he does it. |

This part of the novel really gutted me. It gets so depressing and grim during this short journey of theirs. With how little of them make it out alive, the thought that if they had just listened to Veronica and went to Border Town, that all of those witches would be fine and living a good life, instead of dying to fucking aliens out in the middle of nowhere. The descriptions of their deaths were also pretty gruesome to the point that it made me honestly uncomfortable. I can't see this art style being able to give off the ABSOLUTE sense of DREAD this part of the novel gave me, but I'm sure it will try its best. |

@kingminzy "Sink easily because the cement can gradually crumble in contact of water and continuous waves. " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concrete_ship They worked just fine IRL under adverse ocean conditions. Keep in mind that once properly cured, concrete is incredibly durable, and given that we use concrete for sea and ocean construction projects that last for decades I see no basis for concrete "crumbling in contact with water and continuous waves" just because it's in the form of a ship. |

A shame one stupid leader can have such a catastrophic effect on her followers. Especially since they were one choice away from salvation it seems. |

@kayriel @dantrig sorry guys maybe I wasn't clear when I said "heavy" and "sink easily". Heavy for the witch to use her wind power to move the boat, it is like pushing a floating rock on the water with a gale. Remember when Roland mentioned about using wind and not steam engine yet. Sink easily because the cement can gradually crumble in contact of water and continuous waves. Always a pleasure |

@Dantrig : The novel handle it a bit better on that side. Nothing spoiler-y but I'll put it in spoiler just in case. The MC just have a vague idea of what to do, in fact just about every major project he starts in Border Town goes through a lot of trial and error to get it right, be it the army's weapons or even just building ships. Because while he might not have the actual knowledge of something, he can start with the general idea, and use the scientific method to improve upon it. (and for something, he can cheat through with the power of Witches) Like, when trying to figure out the mixture of ore to make the best steel, Anna literally had a list of combinations that went into 1000+ samples. |

@kingminzy Do you understand nothing of how a boat floats? 'Too heavy' he says. Have you SEEN an aircraft carrier? They're made entirely out of fucking metal, you trying to tell me that it's lighter than air or something? Then it's loaded up with hundreds of people and tons and tons and tons of jets, tons of fuel. Tons of food and other things. And you know what? They can DRIFT. I'm talking straight up Kansai Drifto. Deja Vu. |
