Dong Le's personality change was not caused ONLY by a "tabloid". First, the tabloid had an actual photograph. Even if it is a "tabloid" known for otherwise trashy articles, it can still have some articles with some worth. That's especially more likely to be the case where there's a photograph.

Second, Dong Le has some past knowledge of Zhang Long acting badly. We have not heard what that is. That necessarily means that it wasn't "over some bullshit tabloid". The personality change was due to a combination of multiple factors, eventually culminating in the tabloid incident. If I see an elevator rated for 500 kg and that it already has 500 kg inside of it, then I might put another 6 kg inside. You could say the elevator failing was caused by the additional 6 kg. Sure. But it would be disingenuous to think that was the only reason. It was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

And again, just to make this clear, I do not support Dong Le. I am saying that he has additional motivation. No, that does not mean I support him, no matter how you want to twist my words. I can understand why someone attempted murder but not support the attempted murder. That's how things work.
