@Nightlilygirl- blood is more "sticky" than water, contain salt, and is slightly basic, making it an absolute pain in the eye if blood gets into, well, your eyes. The scene also has this element of "ehm wtf she doing" where the assassin is surprised by an uncoventional, non-optimal act of self harm and let his guard down. I guess. It's not like I ever tried to kill someone and has blood splat onto my face or anything.

@Nightlilygirl- I think it wouldn't work out well as its hard to imagine a wound/cut used as a blood sprayer in real life and the fact that you have to be fast really fast to make it work like that but I am sure that spitting blood is a more accurate way than that
