Don't even understand why she needed fruits to get yeast, you only need flour and water to "make" it. You mix it into pancake-batter consistency, put a cloth over it, and wait a day or two-three.
Sure, you get somewhat different yeast based on what you use to feed it, but for bread flour would be the obvious choice.
